Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Shop Crane - Drip Tray: VAS6208
- Acid-Resistant Safety Gloves
- All-Wheel Drive Clutch Oil. Refer to the Parts Information.
Test Requirements
- The oil temperature must be 20 to 40 °C. (68 to 104 °F)
- The vehicle must be level.
- Final drive must be in the installation position to check oil level.
-- Read the oil temperature, use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester Guided Functions .
Enter "Guided Fault Finding" :
-- Switch the ignition on.
-- Touch the "Guided Functions" field/button on the screen.
-- Select one after another on the tester:
- Brand
- Type
- Model year
- Variant
- Engine codes
- Confirm the entered data.
- 22 - AWD electronics
- 22 - Read the measured values block
- Oil temperature
-- Read the oil temperature.
- The oil temperature must be 20 to 40 °C (68 to 104 °F).
Oil Level, Checking
-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip Tray: VAS 6208 under the final drive.
-- Remove the bolt -A- for checking oil.
The Oil Level is Correct if the All-Wheel Drive Clutch is Filled to the Lower Edge of the Oil Filler Hole or up to 3 mm Below the Oil Filler Hole.
-- Add oil if the oil level is not correct. Refer to Oil, Filling .
Tightening Specifications
