Quick Reference Guide For Flushing Cooling System

Step Action Flushing Quantity
1 Drain the coolant ---
2 Fill the cooling system with distilled water ---
3 Disconnect the connector for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- ---
4 Let the engine idle. ---
5 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the heat exchanger -1- and the cylinder head -2- and flush the cooling system Nine liters of distilled water
6 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the heat exchanger -1- and the radiator -3- and flush the cooling system Two liters of distilled water
7 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the cylinder head -2- and the radiator -3- and flush the cooling system Two liters of distilled water
8 Remove all hose pinch-off pliers, flush the cooling system Six liters of distilled water
9 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the heat exchanger -1- and the cylinder head -2- and flush the cooling system Five liters of coolant
10 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the heat exchanger -1- and the radiator -3- and flush the cooling system Five liters of coolant
11 Clamp off the bleeder hose for the cylinder head -2- and the radiator -3- and flush the cooling system Two liters of coolant
12 Remove all hose pinch-off pliers, flush the cooling system Six liters of coolant
13 Switch the engine off. ---
14 Empty the coolant expansion tank and fill with coolant concentrate ---
15 Connect the connector for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- ---
16 Allow engine to run until the radiator fan turns on. ---
17 Checking freeze protection ---

  1. Heater Core for the Heater Bleeder Hose

  3. Radiator Bleeder Hose
