Final Drive, Removing And Installing: Installing
-- Attach the driveshaft to the flange/driveshaft on the rear final drive so that the markings -arrows- line up. Then install the bolts hand-tight.
-- When removing and installing the driveshaft, be careful not to damage the socket -1-.
-- Lift the final drive into the installation position using the transmission jack -3-.
-- Place the washer -2- on the front mounting bracket.
-- Use the Multipoint Socket: T10035 to install the rear bolts for the final drive on the rear axle.
-- Fasten the rear axle to the body. Refer to REAR AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Tighten the bolt -1- on the rear final drive.
-- Tighten the driveshaft bolts.
Vehicles with All-Wheel Drive Clutch Generation V
-- Connect the connector -B- to the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492- -A-.
- Ignore item -C-.
Vehicles with All-Wheel Drive Clutch Generation VI
-- Connector the connector -1- of the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492-.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Secure the wiring harness in the mounts at the rear final drive.
-- Tighten the drive axle bolts. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the rear stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If removed, install the heat shield for the spare tire well. Refer to FLOOR HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the center muffler with the rear muffler. Refer to MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
If the final drive is replaced:
-- Check the oil level of the all-wheel drive clutch. Refer to OIL LEVEL, CHECKING .
-- Check the final drive oil level. Refer to GEAR OIL .
If a new Pump -V181- was installed, a basic setting must be performed after installing. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
