Engine And Transmission, Separating, Vehicles With Automatic Transmission

AWD vehicles 

-- Remove the bevel box. Refer to BEVEL BOX, REMOVING .

All Vehicles 

-- Remove the six converter nuts -arrow- using the Socket - Sw15: V/175  .

-- To do so, turn the engine 60° in the direction of engine rotation using the Counterhold - Multiple Use: T10172A  .

NOTE:

The torque converter will be pulled out when the transmission is separated from the engine if all 6 nuts are not removed!

-- Remove the transmission/oil pan bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the front engine to transmission bolts -1-. The upper bolt is secured with a nut -arrow-.

-- Remove the upper transmission/engine bolts -arrows- using a 12-point socket.

-- Remove the transmission -3- from the engine, while doing so push the torque converter -1- with for example a screwdriver -2- against the transmission in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- After removing the transmission secure the torque converter from falling.
