Battery Tray, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the Battery -A-. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, ENGINE COMPARTMENT BATTERY .

-- If necessary, remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the wiring harness on the battery tray -A arrows-.

-- If installed, release the retainer in direction of -arrow B- on the DSG^® transmission water separator -1- and remove the water separator -1- upward from the battery tray.

-- If equipped, release the retainers in direction of -C arrows- on the NOx Sensor Control Module -J583- -2- bracket and remove the NOx Sensor Control Module -J583- -2- bracket upward from the battery tray.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
