A/C System, Starting After Charging Refrigerant Circuit
After the following procedures on the vehicle the refrigerant circuit must be activated.
Conditions
- The A/C compressor was replaced and the refrigerant circuit was flushed.
- Refrigerant circuit was flushed.
- The electrical A/C compressor was replaced.
Preparing
There is a risk of damaging the A/C compressor. Refrigerant oil may accumulate in the compression chamber when the A/C compressor is removed.
- After installing a new A/C compressor or filling with fresh refrigerant oil, turn the A/C compressor 10 times by hand before installing the ribbed belt.
-- Make sure that a minimum of 50% of the required amount of refrigerant oil for the refrigerant circuit is in the A/C compressor.
-- Refrigerant circuit is filed. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING .
-- Open all instrument panel vents and vents in the center console.
-- Switch the ignition on.
Starting
Conditions
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester connected.
-- Perform the basic setting of the heating / A/C electronics "A/C compressor intake routine" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
