Shift Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Align the shift housing so that is it parallel to the body.
-- Position the nuts -arrows- and tighten the selector mechanism.
-- Bring the T-bar -1- back into the starting position. The cable is then positioned around the ridge -arrow-.
-- Install the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lock the transmission jack in the P lever position. The lever on the transmission must be moved all the way in the direction of the cable bracket -arrow- at the same time.
-- To check, rotate both front wheels in the same direction and at the same time until the parking lock engages audibly.
- The parking lock is engaged when it is not possible to rotate both front wheels in the same direction at the same time.
-- Push the cable retainer -1- forward in the -direction of the arrow A- and then lock in the -direction of the arrow B-. The cable retainer -1- is now detached from the cable -2-.
-- Press the cable retainer -1- on the transmission jack on the transmission.
-- Thread the cable -2- in the cable retainer -1- and install in the support bracket on the thread -arrows-.
-- Turn the cable retainer -1- in the -direction of the arrow A- and release the tension on the spring -direction of the arrow B-. The cable -2- is adjusted.
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the heat shield under the selector mechanism. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .
