- Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A
- Calibration Unit :VAS 6350A
- Calibration Tool - Linear Laser :VAS 6350/3A
- Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A
- Wheel Bolt Adapter :VAS 6350/1-3A
The Rearview Camera -R189- will be called the camera in the information that follows.
Preparing
Conditions
- Refer to Necessity of Calibration .
- There may be no DTC memory entry present because they prevent the calibration.
-- Check the camera image on the Front Information Display Control Head -J685-.
-- Check and clear the DTC memory using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Check the circle pattern of the rims of the rear wheels and prepare the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A .
Vehicles with wheel bolts SW17
-- Secure the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A using the Wheel Bolt Adapter :VAS 6350/1-3A .
Vehicles with wheel bolts SW19
-- Secure the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A using the Wheel Bolt Adapter :VAS 6350/1-4A .
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Attach the paddles -2- from the Calibration Device :VAS 6350A to the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A -1- and secure with a clamping screw.
-- Position the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A on the wheel bolts of the rear wheels.
Conditions
- Position the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A that the anti-theft wheel bolts do not touch the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A .
-- Adjust the paddles -2-.
Conditions
- The paddles -2- must be close to the ground and move easily and freely.
-- Position the calibration field -1- out of the Calibration Tool :VAS 6350A at the distance -a- behind the vehicle.
Conditions
- Dimension -a- = 400 mm to 1000 mm (15.75 to 39.37 in.)
-- Align the calibration field -1- parallel to the paddles -2-.
Conditions
- Distance -b- must be the same on both sides.
Tip
Note dimension -b- for the step later in the calibration.
-- Switch on the Calibration Tool - Linear Laser :VAS 6350/3A -1-.
-- Adjust the calibration field in a way that the laser beam -2- strikes the center of the emblem at the rear of the vehicle.
-- Turn the plastic feet under the calibration field, until the bubble level -arrow- is centered.
-- Turn on the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A and hold as shown in the display -1-.
-- Press the respective button of the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A -2- :
- -arrow 1- : position with front edge
- -arrow 3- : position with rear edge
-- Attach the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A -2- with the rear edge -arrow 3- and press the respective button.
-- Position the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A -2- flush at the angle of calibration field and hold.
-- Press the measuring button.
Conditions
- The laser beam of the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A -2- must strike the paddle -1-.
- If the laser beam does not strike the paddle -1- in the center, then readjust the paddle -1-.
-- Write down the resulting value.
-- Repeat the procedure for the rear wheel on the other side of the vehicle.
Conditions
- The resulting values must be the same for both sides.
- If the values differ from each other, then readjust the Calibration Device :VAS 6350A , until both values are the same.
-- Turn on the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A and hold as shown in the display -1-.
-- Press the respective button of the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A -2- :
- -arrow 1- : position with front edge
- -arrow 3- : position with rear edge
-- Measure and write down the dimension -a- using a commercially available tape measure.
-- Measure and write down the dimension -b- using a commercially available tape measure.
-- Insert both dimensions -a and b- in "mm" in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Follow the instructions of the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
