Front Catalytic Converter/Exhaust Pipe Bracket, Removing And Installing: Removing

Vehicles with Lock Washers 

-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- and free it up.

-- Loosen the bolt -1- and remove clamp -2-.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

Vehicles with Front Underbody Trim Panel 

-- Remove the front underbody trim panels. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .

Continuation, Vehicles with Lock Washers 

-- Loosen the threaded connection to the catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FWD  or CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AWD  .

Vehicles with Pressure Difference Lines 

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Push the bracket -1- to the side.

-- Remove the bolts in direction of -arrows-.

Requirement

• The help of a second person is necessary for the following procedure.

-- Lower the catalytic converter as far as possible.

-- Drill out the pop rivet with a commercially available drill and remove the lock washers.

-- Remove the bracket for the catalytic converter/front exhaust pipe.
