- Cylinder Head Bolt Socket: 3410
- Adjustment Gauge: 3371
The following describes adjusting the left front door.
The vehicle must be resting on its wheels in order to adjust the front door.
If the front door has an even gap dimension allover when closed, the front door is correctly installed.
The front door may not be positioned too far inward or outward and the contours must align.
Checking the gap dimensions. Refer to CENTER BODY .
Perform corrosion protection measures on the hinges and the bolts after assembling or adjusting.
Gap Dimensions, Adjusting
-- To adjust the gap dimensions, loosen the bolts -2-, -3-, -5- and -6- at the A-pillar.
-- For the bolt -3- on the driver side, loosen and lower the fuse box. Refer to RELAY AND FUSE PANEL BEHIND INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- For the bolt -3- on the front passenger side, remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- For the bolt -6- remove the A-pillar lower gap cover. Refer to A-PILLAR GAP COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Flush Dimension Adjustment
The bolts -4- and -7- must be loosened in order to correctly adjust the flush dimension.
To do so use the Wrench - Door Adjusting: 3320 with the respective bit.
Other measures, such as aligning the front door upward, are not effective. Later pressure will cause the front door to sag again.
Adjust the striker. Refer to STRIKER, ADJUSTING .
After replacing the A-pillar, the other tightening specification must be observed. Refer to OVERVIEW - DOOR .
