Overview - Shift Mechanism
NOTE:
Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces.
Refer to the Parts Information for the grease allocation.
- Gearshift Shaft with Gearshift Cover
- Clip
- for the selector relay lever
- Seal
- Replace after removing. Refer to SELECTOR SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING .
- Shift Lever
- Lubricating. Refer to Figure.
- Insert so that staggered tooth pattern aligns with gearshift shaft. Refer to Figure.
- After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
- Nut
- Self-locking
- Replace after removing
- 25 Nm
- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the shift cable to the selector lever
- After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on selector relay lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Allocation. Refer to Figure.
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Nut
- For the cable bracket
- 20 Nm
The nut is discontinued on vehicles from 06/17/2019. The cable bracket is inserted on the bin from the engine/transmission double bolt and only fastened twice - item Hex Bolt
- Grommet
- Quantity: 3
- Cable bracket mounting to transmission
- Spacer
- Quantity: 3
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Install by hand, do not use striking tools
- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
- Selector Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer
- Installation position. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION .
- Shift Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer
- Installation position. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION .
- Seal
- Between the selector housing and the underbody
- One part with the gearshift housing
- Shifter Housing
- Hex Bolt
- Quantity 3 through June 2019
- Quantity 2 though July 2019
- For the cable bracket
- 20 Nm
- Cable Bracket
- After attaching, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the selector cable to the selector relay lever
- After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on selector relay lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Allocation. Refer to Figure.
- remove from the selector relay lever refer to Figure
- press onto selector relay lever refer to Figure

- Lubricating. Refer to Figure.
- Installation position. Refer to Figure.
- After installing, adjust the shift mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Remove and install selector relay lever and cable retainer. Refer to Figure.
