Heater And A/C Unit, Disassembling And Assembling

The following information refers to LHD vehicles. Information for RHD vehicles is the same.

NOTE:

There are different versions and manufacturers of the heater and A/C units. Individual components of the different heater and A/C units are similar but not the same. Interchanging components from different manufacturers is not permitted. Refer to the Parts Information.

A heater and A/C unit manufactured by "Valeo" is shown in the following illustrations. Refer to IDENTIFICATION for distinguishing characteristics between manufacturers.

Air Distribution Housing
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Depending on vehicle equipment level with or without the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- with Auxiliary Heater Control Module -J604-
- Removing and Installing. Refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Wiring Harness
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
Evaporator Housing
Bolt
- 1 Nm
- Quantity: 3
Left Bracket
- The brackets are installed only through 05/30/2016, from 05/30/2016, plugs are installed in the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to the Parts Information.
- For heater and A/C unit
- Removing and Installing. Refer to HEATER AND A/C UNIT BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Nut
- 4.5 Nm
Nut
- 4.5 Nm
Right Bracket
- The brackets are installed only through 05/30/2016, from 05/30/2016, plugs are installed in the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to the Parts Information.
- For heater and A/C unit
- Removing and Installing. Refer to HEATER AND A/C UNIT BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Air Intake Housing
