Tie Rod End, Removing And Installing: Removing
The following describes for example the removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle
-- Loosen the wheel bolts.
-- Raise the vehicle.
-- Remove the wheel.
-- Loosen the nut -1-.
-- Mark the position of the tie rod end on the tie rod.
-- Loosen the nut -2- from the tie rod end, but do not remove it.
CAUTION:
There is a risk of damaging the wheel bearing housing with loosened bushings if the ball joint puller is positioned incorrectly.
The ball joint puller must be supported on the bushing and not on the wheel bearing housing.
To protect the thread, screw the nut on the pin several turns.
-- Remove the tie rod from the wheel bearing housing using the Puller - Ball Joint:T10187 -3- and remove the nut.
-- Remove the tie rod end from the tie rod.
