Guidelines For Clean Working Conditions
Even minor contamination can lead to malfunctions and leakage. That is why the following guidelines for clean working conditions must be ensured with all procedures:
- Thoroughly clean the connection locations/maintenance openings and the area around them prior to loosening/opening.
- Use lint-free cleaning cloth for cleaning.
- Seal off cables, connections and components immediately after opening them, using seals from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122 .
- Place removed components on a clean surface and cover them with lint-free cleaning cloths.
- Cover or seal opened components carefully.
- Immediately remove leaking liquids and clean the affected areas.
- Only install clean components, remove any replacement parts from their packaging just before installing them and wear clean gloves.
- Supplied transport and protective packaging and sealing cover should only be removed immediately before installing.
- Protect the disconnected electrical or optical connectors from dirt and moisture and only connect when they are dry.
Vehicle and Engine Wash:
- During any cleaning procedures on the vehicle or engine, the water jet of the pressure washer must never be directed onto electric/electronic components or connectors.
