TPMS Reminder Reset - Procedure 09
It is not necessary to perform a manual adapting after adding air, replacing the wheel electronics, or after changing tires. The tire pressure monitoring system automatically recognizes the tire pressure sensors and adapts them as soon as the vehicle drives off. Wheel electronics send data as soon as speed of new wheels exceeds 15 mph (25 km/h). Wheel electronics identification numbers are automatically recognized and read by control module. An acceleration data check also occurs with vehicle speed. This process takes about 7 minutes.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module must first be in learning mode before it can automatically learn new wheel electronics. Vehicle must stand for 20 minutes for this. This takes 5 minutes after a recognized tire puncture. If the standing time is not followed, control module is not in learning mode so system recognizes a malfunction and can only automatically learn wheel electronics after standing 20 minutes.
