Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit -J949-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.

-- Move the ignition key outside of the vehicle to prevent the ignition from switching on unintentionally.

Vehicles with Composition Color Infotainment system

-- Remove the Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794-. Refer to RADIO, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, COMPOSITION COLOR .

Vehicles with Composition Media, Discover Media Infotainment system

-- Remove the Front Information Display Control Head -J685-. Refer to INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM DISPLAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Pull the bracket with the Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit -J949- -1- toward the rear out of the instrument panel until the connectors are accessible.

-- Release and disconnect the connectors from the Control Module for Emergency Call Module and Communication Unit -J949- -1-.

-- Release the catches -3- in the -direction of arrow A-.
