-- Remove the battery and battery tray. Refer to Battery .
-- Pry the selector lever cable -1- off the selector lever -2-, for example, using a wrench.
-- Disconnect the connector -6- from the Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125- and free up the wire at the bracket.
-- Remove the bolts -5- from the cable bracket -4-. Do not remove the lock washer -3-.
-- Disengage the gearshift lever cable -1- from the clip -2-.
Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
So that the cable is not damaged when removing and installing the transmission, use, for example, a cable tie to secure the cable on the body in a suitable position.
-- Remove the starter. Refer to STARTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the upper bolts -arrows- connecting the transmission to the engine, for example, with a 12-point flex head socket wrench.
-- Remove the bracket for coolant hoses, so that the >>rear<< spindle from the engine support bridge has enough >>clearance<<.
-- Disconnect any hoses and cables located near the engine lifting eyes for the Engine Support Bridge:10-222A .
-- Attach the Engine Support Bridge:10-222A as shown. The base -11- from the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 19:10-222A/19 -10- is supported by the longitudinal member seam.

- Engine Sling - Engine Bracket:2024A/1
- Engine Support Bridge - Gearbox Bracket:T10346
- Engine Support Device - Gearbox Bracket:T10346/1
- M6 x 40 collar bolt
- Also slide the Engine Support - Automatic Transmission Adapter:10-222A/16 onto the left side of the Engine Support Bridge. Refer to Fig 14.
- When the Engine Support Bridge is complete, the Engine Support - Automatic Transmission Adapter:10-222A/16 is located between the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 18:10-222A/18 and the left Adapter:10-222A/35 .
- The Engine Support - Automatic Transmission Adapter: 10-222A/16 secures the Engine Support Bridge later in the procedure.
-- Push the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 18:10-222A/18 and Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 3:10-222A/3 onto the Engine Support Bridge:10-222A .
Secure the Engine Support Bridge10-222A as Shown
-- Fasten the Engine Support Bridge - Gearbox Bracket:T10346 or Engine Support Device - Gearbox Bracket:T10346/1 to the left rear locating hole for the battery tray.
-- Use a M6 x 40 collar bolt or one of the bolts for the battery tray.
Attach the Engine/Gearbox Support Shackle:10-222A/12 to the topmost hole on the Engine Sling - Engine Bracket:2024A/1 .
-- Secure the Engine Sling - Engine Bracket:2024A/1 with the securing pin -arrow-.
-- Then engage the Spindles in the engine lifting eyes.
-- Lightly pretension the engine/transmission assembly and Engine Support Bridge using the Spindles.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Remove the connector from the transmission as follows Push the retainer -1- in the direction of the -arrow-, open the hook -2- and then remove the connector -3- from the transmission.
