Safety Precautions During Road Test With Testing Equipment

To Avoid Personal Injury and Damage to the Vehicle, Note the Following:
WARNING:
Vehicles with a dual clutch transmission - accidentally moving the selector lever when the engine is running can cause an accident and injury.
- Move the selector lever into "P" and pull the parking brake lever before working with the engine running.
Risk of poisoning!
- When engine is running, an exhaust extracting system must always be connected to the exhaust system.
If Testing Equipment Is Required during a Road Test, Note the Following:
WARNING:
Distractions and testing equipment that is not secured properly increases the risk of an accident.
There is a risk that the front passenger airbag may deploy during an accident.
- Operating testing equipment while driving causes distractions.
- There is an increased risk of personal injury if testing equipment is not secured properly.
- Always secure testing equipment to the rear seat with a strap and have a second technician operate it in the rear seat.
To Prevent Personal Injury and Damage to the Electrical/Electronic Components, Note the Following:
- Only connect and disconnect test equipment when the ignition is off.
CAUTION:
There is a risk of destroying electronic components when disconnecting the battery.
- Follow the steps for disconnecting the battery.
- Only disconnect the battery when the ignition is switched off.
