Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
-- The fuel tank may be a maximum of 3 /4 full. This ensures the fuel level is below the fuel delivery unit flange.
-- Drain the fuel tank if necessary. Refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING .
-- Move the front seats all the way forward.
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the installation opening cover. Refer to INSTALLATION OPENING COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Unlock and disconnect the connectors -2- from the sealing flange.
-- Unlock and disconnect the connectors -1- from the sealing flange.
-- If equipped, release and disconnect the connector -3- on the sealing flange.
-- Unclip the connectors from the sealing flange mounts.
-- Open the locking ring using the Wrench - Fuel Sending Unit:T10202 .
-- Carefully lift the sealing flange -2- and pull out of the opening in the fuel tank just a little.
The seal -3- can stay in the fuel tank opening.
-- Unclip the suction jet pump -1- from the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169-.
-- To do this carefully bend the retaining tabs -arrows- outward.
-- Lay cloths below to catch the leaking fuel.
-- Carefully remove the Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- from the fuel tank opening.
-- Turn and tilt it as needed.
During removal, make sure that the floater arm from the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- is not bent.
-- Release and remove the connector -3- from the unit -2-.
-- Guide out the wire.
-- Release the Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- -1- from the unit -2-.
-- To do this carefully bend the retaining tabs -arrows-.
-- Remove the Fuel Level Sensor 2 -G169- in the -direction of the arrow-.
Follow all waste disposal regulations.
Check the fuel tank for contamination.
