Vehicles with Lock Washers
-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- and free it up.
-- Loosen the bolt -1- and remove clamp -2-.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
Vehicles with Front Underbody Trim Panel
-- Remove the front underbody trim panels. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
Continuation, Vehicles with Lock Washers
-- Loosen the threaded connection to the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter, Removing and Installing .
Vehicles with Pressure Difference Lines
-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.
-- Push the bracket -1- to the side.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
Vehicles with Lock Washers
Requirement
- The help of a second technician is necessary for the following procedure.
-- Lower the catalytic converter as far as possible.
Risk of injury due to flying metal shavings.
Irritation and injury to skin and eyes possible.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Drill out the pop rivet with a commercially available drill and remove the lock washers.
