Safety Precautions During Road Test With Testing Equipment

To avoid personal injury and damage to the vehicle, note the following:

CAUTION:

Vehicles with a dual clutch transmission - accidentally moving the selector lever when the engine is running can cause an accident and injury.

  • Move the selector lever into "P" and pull the parking brake lever before working with the engine running.

Risk of poisoning!

  • When engine is running, an exhaust extracting system must always be connected to the exhaust system.

If testing equipment is required during a road test, note the following:

CAUTION:

There is a risk of an accident due to distractions and improperly secured testing equipment. Risk of the front passenger airbag deploying during an accident.

  • Operating testing equipment while driving is a distraction.
  • Testing equipment that is not secured properly increases the risk of personal injury.
  • Always secure testing equipment to the rear seat with a strap and have a second technician operate it in the rear seat.

To prevent personal injury and damage to the electrical/electronic components, note the following:

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying electronic components when disconnecting the battery.

  • Follow the steps when disconnecting the battery.
  • Always turn off the ignition before disconnecting the battery.
