MULTIFUNCTION Transmission Range Switch, Adjusting
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Gauge - Multi Function Switch: T10173
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
-- Do not bend the selector lever cable.
Adjustment Requirements:
- Selector lever cable is removed from the lever/selector shaft
- The selector shaft is in "N".
- The bolts on the Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -F125- have been loosened.
- The lever/selector shaft is removed.
-- Place the Adjustment Gauge on the selector shaft -2- and turn the Multifunction Transmission Range Switch -1- until the Adjustment Gauge engages in the tab on the Multifunction Transmission Range Switch connector.
If the tab on the connector does not lock into the groove in the Adjustment Gauge, then the transmission is no longer in "N". In this case, shift the transmission into "N" using the Adjustment Gauge.
-- Secure the Adjustment Gauge to the selector shaft -2- with the screw -3-.
-- Tighten the bolts -arrows- to 6 Nm.
-- Remove the Adjustment Gauge.
-- Mount the spring washer -2- and the nut -1- on the selector shaft -4-.
-- Tighten the nut -1- to 13 Nm.
-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .
-- If removed, install the battery and the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine cover and the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
