A/C Compressor, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the noise insulation under the engine. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
Remove the right front wheel housing liner if necessary. Refer to Wheel Housing Liner .
-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] Crankshaft, Cylinder Block .
Vehicles with a 5-Cylinder Gasoline Engine and Hydraulic Power Steering
-- Remove the nut -arrow-.
-- Remove the refrigerant line bolt -1- from the A/C compressor -2-.
Vehicle with Diesel Engine
-- Remove the Charge Air Cooling Pump -V188-. Refer to [For engine(s) DDSB, DDSA] Cooling System .
Continuation for All Vehicles.
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.
-- Remove the screws -3-.
-- Disconnect the refrigerant lines -2 and 4- from the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Disconnect the connector -6-.
Vehicles with A/C Clutch -N25-
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
All Vehicles
-- Remove the bolts -5-.
-- Remove the A/C compressor -1-.
