Selector Lever In "P" And Ignition Switched On

• The brake pedal is not pressed:

The selector lever is locked and cannot be moved out of "P" when the locking button is pressed. The shift lock solenoid blocks the selector lever.

• The brake pedal is pressed:

The shift lock solenoid releases the selector lever. It is possible to engage a driving mode. Move the selector lever slowly from "P" through "S" ; while doing this, check whether display of selector lever position in instrument cluster matches actual selector lever position.
