Selector Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Press Piece - Shift Rod/Alternator: VW423 
• Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal: T20143/1 
• Sealing Grease
• Refer to the Parts Information for the grease allocation.

-- Remove the gearshift lever and relay lever. Refer to OVERVIEW - SHIFT MECHANISM .

-- Remove the seal using the : T20143/1  or a screwdriver.

-- Lightly oil the outer edge of the new seal.

-- Fill the area between the sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- halfway with Sealing Grease.

Install the Seal All the Way

-- Install the gearshift lever and relay lever. Refer to OVERVIEW - SHIFT MECHANISM .
