Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Position the selector lever on the selector mechanism in the "N" position. The cable can only be loosened in this position.

-- Remove the air filter housing with the air duct hose. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Use the : 80-200  to pry the ball head -1- out of the selector lever -arrow-.

-- Remove the lock washer -3- upward.

-- Pull the selector lever cable -2- toward the rear and out of the cable bracket.

-- Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

-- Remove the tunnel heat shield. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Pry up the lower cover from the selector mechanism in direction of -arrow- and remove.

NOTE:

Do not re-use the cover. Always replace after removing.

-- Release the cable as shown with a screwdriver and remove from the selector lever in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the lock washer in the direction of -arrow-.

Always replace the lock washer.

-- Pull the cable from the selector mechanism and remove.
