Condenser, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Switch off the ignition.
-- Remove the ignition key.
-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Release the air ducts -2- from the mounts -arrow- upward.
For clarity, the impact member is not illustrated.
-- Press the retainer -4- downward in the -direction of the arrow- and pull the air duct -2- forward.
-- Remove the air duct downward.
Vehicles with Refrigerant R134a
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Working with A/C Service Station .
Vehicles with Refrigerant R1234yf
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING .
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves
- Protective Eyewear
- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure can develop in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Remove the bolts -5-.
-- Remove the refrigerant lines -3- from the connection on the condenser.
-- Seal the refrigerant lines -3- with the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122 .
-- Have a second technician release the right and left clip -1- in the direction of the -arrow A-.
-- Have a second technician remove the condenser -3- upward out of the mount -B arrows-.
-- Carefully remove the condenser -3- downward in order to prevent damage to the radiator blades on the condenser and the radiator.
