A/C Compressor, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the noise insulation under the engine. Refer to Noise Insulation .
Depending on the engine type, remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Depending on the engine, parts of the air filter should be removed. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING [DKFA, CXDB] / OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING [CZDA, DGXA, DJXA, CWLA] .
Depending on the engine, parts of the air routing should be removed. Refer to OVERVIEW - INTAKE MANIFOLD [DKFA, CXDB] / OVERVIEW - INTAKE MANIFOLD [CZDA, DGXA, DJXA, CWLA] . .
Depending on the engine, parts of the charge air system should be removed from the air routing. Refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR SYSTEM [CZDA, DGXA, DJXA, CWLA] / OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR SYSTEM [DKFA, CXDB] .
-- Release the tension on the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DKFA, CXDB] / RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CZDA, DGXA, DJXA, CWLA] .
-- Remove the ribbed belt from the A/C compressor belt pulley.
Vehicles with Refrigerant R134a
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Working with A/C Service Station .
Vehicles with Refrigerant R1234yf
-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, DISCHARGING .
Continuation for All Vehicles
Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.
- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure can develop in the refrigerant circuit due to evaporation.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and disconnect the refrigerant lines -2- and -4- from the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Disconnect the connector -6- from the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -5- and remove the A/C compressor -1-.
-- Seal the refrigerant lines using the :VAS6122 .
