Desiccant Bag/Dryer Cartridge, Removing And Installing: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

This procedure contains mandatory replaceable parts. Refer to component overview prior to starting procedure.

Mandatory Replacement Parts

NOTE:

The previously used service stations can still be used. Refer to the V.A.G workshop equipment information.

All open refrigerant circuit components must be sealed with plugs to prevent any humidity from entering them.

Under certain conditions, the desiccant bag no longer needs to be replaced each time the refrigerant circuit is opened on A/C systems with refrigerant R134a. Refer to R134a REFRIGERANT GENERAL, TECHNICAL DATA or CONTAMINANTS REMOVED FROM REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

For A/C systems with refrigerant R1234yf, the desiccant bag/dryer cartridge must be replaced each time the refrigerant circuit is opened. Refer to REFRIGERANT R1234yf GENERAL, TECHNICAL DATA .
