Electromechanical Parking Brake, Checking

"Test mode", activating:

Conditions

• No error with influence on the roller test stand function present (for example speed sensor error).
• The seat belt is buckled.
• Rear axle in the one-axle roller test stand
• No selector lever position selected
• Ignition is switched on (minimum 3 seconds)
• The front wheels must be stationary (minimum 3 seconds).
• The rear wheel must rotate for at least 3 seconds non-stop between 2 km/h and 9 km/h (1.2 mph and 5.6 mph)

"Test mode" is indicated when the yellow Electric Parking/Hand Brake Malfunction Indicator Lamp -K214- is displayed.

The electromechanical parking brake does not close completely the first time the "Test mode" button is pressed.

Pressing the Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538- two times in a row gradually increases the tension force.

• First operation: move both sides of the parking brake to the contact point
• Second operation: both sides of the parking brake are fully actuated

End the "Test mode" :

As soon as the condition for "Test mode" is no longer fulfilled, "Test mode" is immediately left, for example:

Conditions

• Front wheels: speed greater than 0 km/h (0 mph)
• Rear wheels: speed less than 2 km/h (1.2 mph) or greater than 9 km/h (5.6 mph)
