Selector Mechanism Without Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center console cover. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center console trim panel in the front footwell. Refer to FRONT FOOTWELL CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Release and disconnect the connector -2- from the selector mechanism -1-.

-- Position the selector lever on the selector mechanism in the "N" position. The cable can only be loosened in this position.

-- Remove the tunnel heat shield. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Use a screwdriver to pry out the bottom of the cover in direction of -arrow- and remove it from the selector mechanism.

NOTE:

Do not re-use the cover. Always replace after removing.

-- Release the cable with a screwdriver and remove it from the selector lever in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the lock washer in the direction of -arrow-.

NOTE:

Always replace the lock washer.

-- Remove the cable from the selector mechanism.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- in the vehicle interior.
