Selector Mechanism With Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center console cover. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center console trim panel in the front footwell. Refer to FRONT FOOTWELL CENTER CONSOLE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Release and disconnect the connector -2- from the selector mechanism -1-.

-- Remove the air filter housing with the air duct hose. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR FILTER HOUSING (1.4L) .

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Use the : 80-200  to pry the ball head -1- out of the selector lever -arrow-.

-- Remove the lock washer -3- upward.

-- Pull the selector lever cable -2- toward the rear and out of the cable bracket.

-- Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

-- Remove the tunnel heat shield. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Remove the nuts -arrows- in the vehicle interior.

• Remove the rear nuts -A arrows- from the front footwell
• Remove the front nuts -B arrows- from the top, over the center console cover

-- Remove the selector mechanism with the selector lever cable and the selector housing downward.
