Selector Lever Cable, Checking And Adjusting: Adjusting:

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Volkswagen Golf. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

-- Move the selector lever into "P" position.

-- Move the selector lever -3- on the transmission into "P" (push the gearshift lever to the rear).

WARNING:

The parking lock must be engaged.

-- From >>underneath the vehicle<<, rotate both front wheels in the same direction and at the same time until the parking lock engages audibly.

-- Lightly tap the handle on the selector lever back and forth but do not move it out of "P" under any circumstances.

This places the selector lever cable core in its optimal position.

-- Tighten the bolt -2-.
