Engine And Transmission, Separating, Vehicles With Automatic Transmission

AWD Vehicles 

-- Remove the bevel box. Refer to BEVEL BOX, REMOVING .

-- Remove the starter. Refer to STARTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

All Vehicles 

-- Remove the six converter nuts -arrow-.

-- To do so, turn the engine 60° in the direction of engine rotation using the : T10172A  .

NOTE:

The torque converter will be pulled out when the transmission is separated from the engine if all 6 nuts are not removed!

-- Remove the transmission/oil pan bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the upper transmission/engine bolts -arrows- using a 12-point socket.

-- Remove the transmission -3- from the engine, while doing so push the torque converter -1- with for example a screwdriver -2- against the transmission in direction of -arrow-.

-- After removing the transmission secure the torque converter from falling.
