Oil Level, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Digital Thermometer: VAS6519 
• Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit: SMN372500 
• Front Axle Differential Lock Fluid. Refer to Parts Information
• Commercially Available Hose approximately 1.50 m Outer Diameter 15 mm
• Commercially Available Funnel
• Acid-Resistant Safety Gloves

Test Requirements

• The oil temperature must be 20 to 40 °C (68° to 104°F).

Use a Digital Thermometer: VAS6519  to measure the oil temperature.

• The vehicle must be level.
• Front axle differential lock must be in installed position to check oil level.

-- Remove the oil filler plug -arrow-.

Replace oil filler plug after removing.

• The oil level is correct when the front axle differential lock is filled up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

-- Insert new oil filler plug -arrow- and tighten.

-- Add oil if the oil level is not correct. Refer to FRONT AXLE DIFFERENTIAL LOCK FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
