Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

If only the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- was replaced, use the previously used control module bolt.
If the steering column was replaced, remove the protective cover and use the bolt in the new steering column for the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-.

-- Insert the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- with the pin -1- into the groove -arrow- on the steering column -2- and push the control module firmly by hand onto the steering column.

-- Once the control module -1- is touching the entire surface of the steering column, install the bolt -item 6- in Figure and tighten it.

NOTE:

If the same Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- is being reinstalled, the control module does not need to be adapted again.

If the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- was replaced, it must be adapted again.

-- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester connect and perform vehicle-specific entry into "Guided Fault Finding".

-- Select the corresponding program in "Guided Functions".

-- Follow the prompts on the screen.
