Front Final Drive, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

A second technician will be needed to install the front final drive back into the mounts on the subframe.

-- Install the bolts and nuts -1 through 3- that connect the front final drive -A- to the subframe -B-. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME .

-- Attach the drive axle to the flange shafts. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the front driveshaft. Refer to FRONT DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Tensioner Hooks (2 pc.): VW552 .

-- Install the left and right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Check the transmission fluid level in the front final drive. Refer to FRONT FINAL DRIVE, CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUID .

-- Install the impact guard under the front final drive, if equipped. Refer to Body Front .

-- Install the front wheels. Refer to WHEEL, CHANGING .

-- If necessary, perform a vehicle alignment after the installation is complete. Refer to Wheel Alignment .
