Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

NOTE:

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.

After installation, the selector lever cable must be checked for ease of movement and adjusted.

The selector mechanism selector lever is in the "N" position.

-- Guide the cable on the selector mechanism, insert in the selector lever and install the new lock washer.

-- Install the heat shield under the gearshift mechanism. Refer to FLOOR HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Position the selector lever cable with the cable bracket and tighten with the bolts -2-.

-- Do not press the ball head -1- of the selector lever cable on the selector lever yet. This takes place after the selector lever cable is checked and adjusted.

-- Check and adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
