14.3 Blind Spot Detection Control Modules - J1086-/-J1087-, Removing And Installing
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Torque Screwdriver - VAG1624-
NOTE:
The removal and installation is described for the left side. The removal and installation on the right side is similar.
Removing
- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to Body Exterior (Rear Bumper; Bumper Cover, Removing and Installing).
- Release the retaining tab -5- from the bracket -2-.
- Remove the Blind Spot Detection Control Module 2 - J1087- -1- in direction of -arrow- out of the bracket -2- until the connector -3- is accessible.
- Release and disconnect the connector -3-.
- Remove the nuts -4- for the bracket -2-
- Remove the bracket -2- from the body.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
NOTE:
- The blind spot detection calibration normally occurs automatically.
- Static calibration is only required when there is a DTC memory entry.
