Overview - Emissions Control System

NOTE:
After exhaust system installation work, ensure system is spaced far enough away from body. If necessary, loosen the double clamp on the front exhaust pipes and align the pipes again.
Do not use sealants containing silicone. Traces of silicone components which are sucked into the engine are not burned there, and they damage the oxygen sensors.
Replace the self-locking nuts.
- Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converters and Front Mufflers
- Removing and installing. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter -G130-
- 50 Nm
- Bank 1, sensor 2
- Installed in the exhaust gas stream of cylinders 1, 2 and 3
- Black 4-pin connector
- Grease only the threads with :G 052 112 A3 ; :G 052 112 A3 must not get into the slots on the probe body
- Use Ring Wrench 7-Piece Set :3337 for removal and installation
- Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-
- 50 Nm
- Bank 1, sensor 1
- Installed in the exhaust gas stream of cylinders 1, 2 and 3
- Black 6-pin connector
- Grease only the threads with :G 052 112 A3 ; :G 052 112 A3 must not get into the slots on the probe body
- Removing and installing. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor -G39-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 -G108-
- 50 Nm
- Bank 2, sensor 1
- In the 4th, 5th and 6th cylinder exhaust system tract.
- Brown 6-pin connector
- Grease only the threads with :G 052 112 A3 ; :G 052 112 A3 must not get into the slots on the probe body
- Removing and installing. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 -G108-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Oxygen Sensor 2 after Catalytic Converter -G131-
- 50 Nm
- Bank 2, sensor 2
- In the 4th, 5th and 6th cylinder exhaust system tract.
- Brown 4-pin connector
- Grease only the threads with :G 052 112 A3 ; :G 052 112 A3 must not get into the slots on the probe body
- Use Ring Wrench 7-Piece Set :3337 for removal and installation
