Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following: 

NOTE:

Replace the seal and self-locking nuts.

Coat the exhaust manifold stud bolts with hot bolt paste. Refer to the parts information for the hot bolt paste.

-- Pry out the seal -1- from the turbocharger -2-. Insert the screwdriver -3- in the opening -arrow-.

-- Engage the new V-clamp loosely on the turbocharger flange.

-- Position the catalytic converter -1- on the turbocharger -2-. The retaining strap and notch -arrows- must interlock.

-- Lightly pull on the V-clamp and bring it into the installation position.

-- The opening of the V-clamp -a- must align with the marking -arrow- on the catalytic converter -1-.

-- Install the exhaust system without tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
