MECHATRONIC, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- If necessary change the transmission fluid filter. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.
Replace the transmission fluid pump cover.
Replace the O-rings -arrows- on the connector for the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743-.
Touch a grounded object before touching the Mechatronic. Refer to Electrical Components .
-- Carefully insert the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- into the transmission housing:
- The Mechatronic must be placed on the alignment pins -arrow-.
- The >>sensor arm<< must rest in the guide on the transmission housing as shown in the magnified area.
-- Tighten the bolts -1 to 10- to the tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Figure.
-- Install the transmission fluid pan. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the new cover for the transmission fluid pump -A- and tighten using new bolts -arrows-. Refer to Figure.
-- Install the lower left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Connect the connector -A- from the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- as follows.
-- The arrow -D- on the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- -B- must line up with the connector -A- as well as with the tab -C-.
-- Connect the connector -A- carefully all the way and then turn the lock >>clockwise<< in the direction of -arrow-.
-- Fill with transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
Risk of damaging the engine through overheating.
- If the coolant was drained, only Fill with transmission fluid and do not start the engine yet.
- Only start the engine when the coolant is filled for the engine cooling.
-- Perform a basic setting. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
