Ambient Interior Lighting

Ambient lighting is available in the 2015 Golf. It uses LEDs and improves gentle lighting in dark conditions. The lighting elements are located:

• On the door opening handles
• On the interior door handles
• In the decorative strip in the front door trim panels
• In the footwell

A narrow lens of clear plastic has been incorporated under the chrome insert of the decorative strip. An optical fiber cable is fed by an LED behind the lens. A light seal prevents stray light from escaping through construction-related gaps or split lines.

If ambient interior lighting is installed, two white interior lights in the front roof module and the rear roof module also use LED LED technology.
