Section 99 (Engine Cooling System (H4DO)): Radiator: Removal

CAUTION: The radiator is pressurized when the engine and radiator are hot. Wait until engine and radiator cool down before working on the radiator.

Remove the V-belt covers.

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Lift up the vehicle.
Drain engine coolant. < Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant. >
Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.

Disconnect the ATF cooler hoses from ATF pipes. (AT model)
NOTE: Plug the ATF pipe to prevent ATF from leaking.

Lower the vehicle.
Remove the air intake duct (Rear). < Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct. >
Remove the reservoir tank. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Reservoir Tank. >
Disconnect the connector (A) from the main fan motor assembly and the connector (B) from the sub fan motor assembly.

Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the water pipe assembly.

Remove the radiator upper brackets.

Lift the radiator up and away from vehicle.
