Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, Removing And Installing: Removing

If replacing the control module, select "replace" in "Guided Functions" on the appropriate control module.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Follow the prompts on the screen.

-- Remove the steering column, refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Slightly lift the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- -2- and take it off of the steering column in the direction of the -arrow-.

  • After removing the control module, make sure no dirt or foreign objects enter the steering column.
