Steering System, Checking

Requirement:

The direction of operation of the steering control (steering wheel) shall correspond to the intended change of direction of the vehicle. There shall be a continuous relationship between the steering control deflection and the steering angle.

"Testing during the periodical technical monitoring"

Test Method:

Visual inspection to check the continuous relationship between the steering angle at the steering wheel and the steering angle at the front wheels.

Test Conditions:

Set vehicle operational and wait for the test of the system.

Test Sequence:

Bring the steering wheel in the straight position. Then turn 180° to the left, then 360° to the right and then again 180° to the left.

OK Result:

The resulting steering angle on the front wheels follows to steering input on the steering wheel.
