Contact Corrosion
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Audi e-tron Quattro and 2019 Audi e-tron Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Contact corrosion can occur if incorrect fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) are used.
For this reason, only fasteners with a special surface coating are installed.
In addition, rubber or plastic parts and adhesive consist of non-conductive materials.
If there are doubts as to whether parts are suitable or not, use new parts. Refer to the Parts Information.
Note:
- We only recommend original replacement parts, since they have been tested and are compatible with aluminum.
- The use of Audi accessories is recommended.
- Contact corrosion damage is not covered under warranty.
