Schematic Overview - Fuel System

  1. Fuel Metering Valve -N290-
    • Do not open
  2. High Pressure Pump
  3. High Pressure Reservoir (Rail)
    • For cylinder bank 1 (right)
  4. Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276-
  5. Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-
  6. High Pressure Reservoir (Rail)
    • For cylinder bank 2 (left)
  7. Injector
  8. Fuel Supply Hose
    • Do not disassemble
    • Replace only complete with change-over roller
  9. Restrictor
    • There is very little remaining pressure in the fuel supply hoses
    • Cannot be replaced separately; replace the complete fuel supply hoses if they are faulty
    • Check the restrictor. Refer to FUEL RETURN LINE RESTRICTOR, CHECKING 
  10. Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-
  11. Fuel Filter

Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve N276 - Tightening Specification

-- Align the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- so that connecting the connector -arrow- does not cause the electrical wiring to be placed under tension.

-- Counterhold the housing hex bolt to tighten union nut on regulator valve in 4 stages as follows:

Step Tightening Specification
1. Install all the way in by hand.
2. 60 Nm
3. Turn back 90°
4. 85 Nm

Fuel Pressure Sensor G247 - Tightening Specification

-- Tighten the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- in four steps as follows:

NOTE:

Do not use an open-end wrench for opening or tightening.

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Step Tightening Specification
1. Install all the way in by hand.
2. 60 Nm
3. Turn back 180°
4. 85 Nm
