Tightening Specifications
The tightening specifications only apply to lightly greased, oiled, phosphated or blackened nuts and bolts.
Additional lubricant such as engine oil or transmission fluid may be used, but do not use graphite lubricant.
Do not use any parts that have had the lubrication removed.
Tightening specification tolerance: ±15%.

- Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
- Engine to transmission. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0BK] Transmission Tightening Specifications .
Procedure
Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.
Replace the self-locking nuts and bolts, as well as the seals, gaskets and O-rings.
The hose connections as well as air duct pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production. Refer to the Parts Information.
During installation, install all cable ties back at the same position.
-- Always clean the threaded holes for the engine/transmission threaded connection in the cylinder block using a thread tap before installing the transmission.
- Before installing a new engine, check if the alignment pin -Item 6- OVERVIEW - CYLINDER BLOCK, TRANSMISSION SIDE is in the crankshaft, install it if necessary. Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
Vehicles through MY 2013:
-- Before installing a replacement engine, make sure that the semi-round ring -arrow- is inserted in the power steering pump drive axle.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Install the upper left coolant pipe if removed. Refer to COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine support and engine mount. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .
-- Install the engine on the transmission. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0BK] Transmission, Installing .
Further installation is the reverse order of removal.
-- Tighten the drive axles on the transmission flange shafts. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .
-- Install the ATF cooler. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0BK] ATF Cooler, Removing and Installing .

Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Install the transmission mount and the transmission support. Refer to TRANSMISSION SUPPORT WITH REAR TRANSMISSION MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lift the engine/transmission assembly with the :VAS6131B .
-- Align the subframe and tunnel crossmember using the marks made on the longitudinal members during removal.
-- Tighten the tunnel crossmember bolts. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0BK] Assembly Mounts Overview .
-- Tighten the subframe bolts only to the tightening specifications and with no additional turns (tighten the bolts only after axle alignment). Refer to SUBFRAME .
Risk of accident due to loose threaded connections.
- If the subframe bolts are not tightened to final torque, the vehicle must not be driven.
Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:
