Service Position, Performing And Resetting: Notes

CAUTION:

On vehicles with distance regulation (ACC), note the following.

If the bumper is removed and re-installed or changes are made to ACC bracket, distance regulation adjustment must be carried out. Refer to Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Calibrating .

Note the following on vehicles with an Night Vision System Camera -R212-.

It is necessary to perform a calibration if the bumper was removed and then installed again or if changes were made to the radiator grille. Refer to Infrared System, Calibrating .

NOTE:

For the Service position, no lines and/or circuits are disconnected or opened, for example engine cooling system, Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor system, etc.

When installing the lock carrier, make sure that no lines or cables get pinched or kinked at the connecting points.

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .

- :T10228 are installed in free threads at inner left and right.

- Service Position:
  -- Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting .
  
  -- Remove the front bumper. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
  
  -- Remove the top lock carrier cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
  
  -- Remove the seal on the hood near the lock carrier.
  
  -- Disconnect the engine hood cable at the coupling. Refer to Release Cable Coupling
  
  -- Remove the hose from the coolant reservoir. Refer to Loosen the Coolant Hose on the Reservoir
  
  -- Disconnect the headlamp connectors.
  
  -- On vehicles with charge air cooler, pressure hoses must also be disconnected.
  
  -- Remove upper right or left bolts -1- from the longitudinal member
  
  -- Install the left and right outer :T10228 into the open thread.
  
  -- Remove the remaining bolts -1- from the longitudinal member and from the lower longitudinal member -2-.
  
  -- Remove the bolts -3- from the upper longitudinal member and the -4- fender flange.
  
  -- Remove the bolts -6- from the fender brace.
  
  -- Remove lock carrier without stretching wires forward on guide pins.
  
  CAUTION:
  When removing lock carrier, wiring must not be pinched or kinked.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- After installing, the headlamp setting must be checked and adjusted if necessary. Refer to Headlamp, Adjusting .
